19 Jan What does Parrot think will take flight in 2024?
The world of communications is constantly evolving, and 2024 is set to be another year of new developments, emerging trends and keeping up to date with changes. Here’s Parrot’s round up of what we see happening in the next 12 months.
Growth of long-form posts and short-form video
LinkedIn has certainly grown in popularity over the last few years, offering a well-rounded approach to social networking. From long-form written posts and articles, to video capabilities, it’s no surprise that LinkedIn has found its footing as a go-to channel, especially for B2B organisations. Alongside this is the meteoric rise of TikTok, the much-loved (and sometimes loathed) short-form video platform. This channel is paving the path for quirky, fun and engaging video content that more and more brands will no doubt leverage for commercial and relationship-building gains.
The last two decades have seen the rise and fall of various social media networks, with new apps being launched to this day that offer unique features and new possibilities.

More embracing of hybrid events
The effects of the pandemic may have led to a better understanding of how to organise virtual events, but it is the power of hybrid that has come to the fore. The ability to blend in-person and digital attendance really brings together the best of both worlds. Some people understandably don’t wish to attend large-scale events for many reasons – including costs, air miles, health grounds, and accessibility needs. To allow individuals the choice over how they engage with conferences, networking, workshops and more, is set to continue for the long-term, whilst also allowing a much large and global audience to engage.
Authenticity and simplicity
In a world that is now seemingly jam-packed with information, messaging and communications, there are two important factors: authenticity and simplicity. People want to understand what a brand or a company really stands for, and to hear it in a straightforward way that cuts through the noise. For marketing and communication professionals, this cements what we have worked towards for a long-time, for brands to be upfront and honest, and tell it straight. No-one needs the jargon, mixed-messaging and hiding under a sea of complicated phrasing.
If you’re looking to bolster your communications support for 2024, or you’re just not sure where to start, the team at Parrot are here to help you spread your wings. After all, we can navigate these trends, so you don’t have to.
